So I've been gone for quiet a while now. Dare I say I lost interest in my crafting, but with Valentine's just around the corner, I have my creative juices flowing! While I was taking a "break" from my Cricut I started playing around with stamps and Copics and I fell in love! My favorite stamps are from The Greeting Farm. They are absolutely adorable and great for coloring with Copics. Here is one of my many Valentine's to come.

For this week's challenge we were told to make a card using pink, scallops, flourish, glitter, jewels, and ruffles (picking any 3). I think I incorporated more than 3 hehehe oh well! Of course this all has to do with it being October and breast cancer awareness month. So here is my entry for the challenge. I hope you enjoy :) I made an "any occasion" card so I can have it handy whenever I need one.

Here is the recipe:
Sugar and Spice - Scalloped rectangle 4 x 5 1/4"
Sweethearts - Scooter gal 3.18"
Stickles - Black Diamond, Cinnamon, and Cotton Candy
Stick on pearls
Black ribbon and glue dots to keep the ruffling together
My Pink Stamper stamp set - "Everyday Occasions" for the sentiment and swirls

This was my first attempt at gathering ribbon so don't laugh :)

French Manor

I think this is the first time I have used my French Manor cart as the main focus of my card. I used the dress frame. I was surprised and pleased that it cut very well despite all the little details. Here is a more detailed look

MPS Imagine That Wednesday Challenge

My cat was cut at 3.8"
Tiny birds were .8"
Meow banner was .8"
Yellow patterned paper was cut at 4" but i had to trim the side to make it fit onto my card
I added bling with the iRock and Stickles to the birdies' wings

I'm such a bad blogger. I have neglected my blog for who know how long! I noticed I had been a little down. I was super excited for my Imagine to arrive, I neglected my Expression :( I wasn't in the mood to make anything. Since my Imagine was on backorder I waited about a month for it to arrive. Well now it is here and I'm loving it!!!!

Cricut Circle Calling Card

As part of the Cricut Circle we were encouraged to create calling cards to carry with us to any Circle event. We could enter a card for drawings at the events and hand them out to other Circle members as a way to keep in contact. Here is the card I made a while ago. On the back I printed out a white square with my real name, message board name, Circle member number, and email address. Per request of Gramjak I have put up my card on my blog :).

I used the Create a Critter cart to cut the raccoon at 2 1/2". I do not remember the exact measurements, but they were along these lines hahahaha. I know that the card itself measures 3". The white is cut at 2 3/4" and the pink is at 2 3/4" x 1 1/2".
Here is the card holder to go along with it.

I cannot take credit for this. Another Circle member made the template. I cannot find the post where she showed how to do it. Once I create a template for it I will post it :)

I gave in and just bought the Imagine :-/ I hope I'm happy with my purchase. After much debating with my mom and other people I always take into consideration when making a hefty purchase, I went against some of their advice and just got it hehe. I wont be in my hand until Oct :( So I'll have to sit and wait patiently

Throwback Thursday Challenge #9

Here is my submission for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge. This week's theme was "Back to School" using the Paisley cartridge. This cart has a lot of cute images, but I really haven't used it as much. I made this card for my niece's teacher. Just a little hello note to let the teacher know that she can count on me for any help in or out of the classroom. I also include a $5 gift card to Starbucks :)

Tri fold shutter card

Here is my first attempt at a tri fold shutter card. I total forgot take pictures before I wrote out my card, so I've cut out my greeting :). I made this card for my friend as a "just because". I was excited to create this shape of card and super excited to use Rock Princess

I didn't realize that the skull has about 6 different layers. Hahaha I only did 3

Forever Young booklet project

I volunteered mysef to be a guest designer for Kricut Tangee's blog Kricut Krazy
Her goal is to have all the projects from all the Cricut booklets on her blog, but since she doesn't own all of the carts, she asked if anyone would help her out. I offered to do the project in Forever Young. It is a simple 3D purse. Here is my take on it.

I tried to stick to the example as closely as I could. I did not have any glittered purple paper so what I did was add some Stickles to the plain purple paper. The binder also called for glitter white and purple ribbon, but since I didn't have those either I went with a cream colored ribbon.

Simple and quick card I made to try out my new 3 Birds on Parade cart which is only sold through HSN as of right now. I feel in love with this card as soon as I saw it. It has something you can use all year round, from Valentine's Day to Christmas or Halloween. Not only does it have images for holiday, but it has many more everyday images.

For this card I used two cartridges, one for my images and the other for the card itself. My images were cut at 2.5 inches and the sentiment was cut at 1.75 inches. The little vampire is supposed to have his cape lined in red, but the cuts were too small I could not work with them. I'm thinking if the bird was a bit bigger, then I could've used the red lining of his cape. The card itself came from the B is for Boy Lite cart. I used one of the tags and welded them together to make a card. Then I used a single tag as the background.

I used all SU paper. I've slowly built up my collection so now I have almost every color :). Here are the colors I used:
Old Olive
Night of Navy
Tempting Turquoise
Basic Black
Whisper White
Daffodil Delight

The "It's Not Easy Being Pink" blog hop was such a success! Thank you everyone for the sweet thoughts and prayers for baby Reily. He is doing better now. We thank God that he has made amazing progress these past 2 days. He is now off the IV and the oxygen :)

I wanted to share this card I made last week for a contest held by the Cricut Circle. We were asked to make a card that would be donated to the lymphoma and leukemia center in Arizona. We were only allowed to use Provo Craft and Bazzill products. The card will be judge by Bazzill employees and 2 lucky winners will be able to go to a special Provo Craft event in AZ. Winners will be able to take one guest. Hotel stay and events tickets will be provided. Even if I don't win I know my card will be used for a good cause :)

For this card I used 3 different carts. I used Cherry Limeade for the bird, tree, and Hi!. The cloud, sun, and Just 4 You came from Create a Critter cart. The card shape itself came from Just Because Cards cart. All the paper was from Bazzill. I did some embossing on the cloud and the bird with the Cuttlebug. I used the iRock to adhere the bling and Stickles on the limes.
I do hope this card brings a smile to whoever receives it.

I made this post-it note holder I scrap-lifted from a friend. I thought it was the cutest thing! The only cuts I made were the flamingo from he Serenade solutions cart and the scalloped oval from the French Manor cart. Everything else was cut by the paper cutter and the edge puncher. I will post direction in a later post.

Now on to a small giveaway! I will be giving away all the 3 different sizes of post-its so you can get started on your own post-it note holder. It's not much, but it will sure get you started on your project. I totally forgot to get something for the giveaway. My Creative Time- Throwback Thursday Challenge

Here is my submission for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge. She required any particpant to use the "New Arrival" cart or any old one we had. I decided that I will start naming my cards. Lets see if I will keep this up hahahaha. So here is my "Sweet Dreams" card

Recipe:
New Arrival cart (bassinet 2" moon 2.5")
Stampin Up cardstock in Night of Navy and Always Artichoke
Patterned paper were scraps
Stickles in silver for the moon's eye and stars in the sky
Cream ribbon
White gel pen for white stitching

MPS June project - Summer time tote

Summer is here!!! Kids are getting ready to resume their swim lessons. I made this tote for my niece to take her things to her swim lessons. I couldn't find my tripod, so I made a picture tutorial :)
Here are the things you need:
Freezer Paper (Wax paper will not work)
Blank tote
Iron
Any cricut cart. I used Create a Critter
Tulip fabric paint

You also need a piece of cardboard, an old magazine, or something to stick inside your bag to prevent any paint soaking on the other side. Mine didnt leak through, but better safe than sorry!

Cut out your stencil on the freezer paper. I used a 12x12 piece of freezer paper. I used the whale from the Create a Critter cart. Cut out the whale, the whale's first layer, and the saying "Splash". Make sure to save any little pieces in your saying. Make sure to place the dull side of the paper down on the mat, the shiny side will not stick to the mat. If you are cutting out a saying, make sure to press the Flip button on your machine or else it'll be backwards when you iron it on.

Iron on the stencil to your bag, SHINY SIDE DOWN. I started with the whale's first layer, the one that is squirting water. Make sure all the sides are stuck on the bag to prevent any paint leaking under the paper.

Take some paint and a make up applicator or brush and brush/dab on the paint.

Allow time for the paint to dry. I used my blow drier to speed up the process. Use the cool setting. Once it’s dry to touch, peel off the paper and place the second layer to paint on the different shade of blue. Try to align the image exactly for best results. Iron on this second layer trying to avoid the painted area. It will not damage the painted area, but you might get your iron a little dirty.

Paint this new area. Let dry and peel off paper.

On to the saying. Repeat the same process above. Iron on the paper, making sure to include the small pieces of the saying such as the loop in the L and the circles in the P and A.

I painted the water squirt blue

And then continued with the magenta wording

While that is drying I added the sun on the corner and then blow dried the sun and the saying.
After everything was dry I took some puffy paint and added the eyes and smile on the whale and sun. I also wanted it to be a girl whale, so I glue gunned a pink bow ☺ .

I cut out another sun on blue paper and made a gift tag using Robyn’s Friends & Family stamp set.

MPS Sneak Peek of Tweetie Hoo Puns stamps

Here is my latest project I've created using My Pink Stamper's newest punny stamp set. This set is great if you are using any kind of birds. This set will be released VERY VERY soon. You can start checking her website for her announcement on when these will be released.

Well on to my project. We have yet ANOTHER member in our family that is expecting.

I made this card using the Straight From the Nest cart. I cut the nest on brown paper at 4 inches and the eggs on teal paper also at 4 inches. I kept the Real Dial Size button off because those eggs would've been gigantic! I used a different shade of brown for the card itself. I used SU chocolate chip cardstock and cut it at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and the teal paper was cut at 5 1/4 x 4. I stamped the sentiment with chocolate chip ink.

With the same colored ink and a makeup sponge I inked the edges of the nest. I did some heat embossing on the eggs. I used the eraser end of my pencil, dipped it in the embossing ink, sprinkled white embossing powder, and applied heat with the embossing tool.

Baby Shower invite

Simple and easy shower invites I made. I used the onesie and the duck from the New Arrival cart. I cut the onesie at 5.5 inches and the duck at 1.75 inches. I attached the duck with pop-up dots to give it the raised look. For the buttons on each shoulder, I punched out tiny holes on a foam sheet and used the little dots. I used the Martha Stewart screw punch that has 3 different sizes. I used the medium sized hole. I used black Sticlkes for the eye of the duck and orange Stickles for the duck's bill. The back of the invite has a blank sheet of paper on which I printed out all the shower information. I placed each invite in a clear cellophane envelope and gave them to the mom-to-be to hand out.

MPS Father's Day Challenge - Coin Chomping Robot Jar

Father's Day is around the corner so what better than a Father's Day challenge. For this project I decided to make a coin jar. As you can see I tried not to put any "Dad" words on it, so this could be a versatile gift for any male or fatherly figure in you life. I might even keep this gift for myself hehe just kidding! Anyway, it was a very simple project to make.

The recipe includes:
Glass Jar
Robotz Cricut cartridge (robot, $ signs, and font)
Paper and strong adhesive tape (ATG)

If you decide to make this jar, your measurements will vary. My jar had square-like things on each side. They were about 3 inches in height, so my dollar signs were cut at 2.75". The robot on the lid is cut at 3". The font was cut at 1.5" and the tiny $ was cut at .75"

I used SU cardstock and the ATG 714 to attach all my images on the glass. I love how it is still sticking. I don't think it will fall apart anytime soon :)

MPS May Family project

It's baby season in my family!!!!! I'm so excited. Not only will we have 2 new additions, but there are 2 girls at work that are also expecting! So here is what I came up with for this month's Family themed project

Pregnancy Survival Kit
The recipe for the outside is as follows:
New Arrival cart (5.5 mom)
A Child's Year cart (2 inch font)
Family and Friends Stamp Set by My Pink Stamper
me & my BIG ideas flower stickers

I used paper for all of this. I was a little nervous about paper not sticking properly, but the ATG 714 did wonders! It's held up nicely.

I layered the can with an assortment of colored tissue paper. The bottom layer includes some items for the moms such as socks, panty liners (for urine loss hehe), tea, stretch mark cream, hand cream, foot cream, etc. The top layer of the can includes some thoughtful items. I printed the following on a card and placed it in the can with all the items:

Tissue - Because now you cry during all the Hallmark commercials.
Antacid - To help your tummy forgive you for the little thing you couldn't pass up.
Rubberband - To remind you that you won't always be huge... You'll get to keep the stretch marks for the rest of your life.
Penny - To help start saving for that college fund.
Tootsie Roll - To help you satisfy that Chocolate craving.
Puzzle piece - So you won't forget that your life would not be complete without the precious little one that you are expecting

And the best part is that I was able to find EVERYTHING at my dollar store =D

I think I just sold my BFF on the Cricut. I just bought my Expression, so I gave her my baby bug along with some paper and other materials to start off with. I only showed her the basics and I think she is now hooked! I do hope so!!!! I need a scrapping buddy :)

For the envelope I used the Ultimate Crafter Companion. The stamp is from Stampin' Up. It is the Cupcake standard wheel. I used different colored Stickles to bling up the boring white envelope :)

Spring Treats

Hi everyone. You probably already saw my project over at MPS site. I was a bit late on posting mine over on my blog. I just got home from work. Anyway, I had lots of fun creating this design.
For this month's project, I created a spring themed layout. I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the chick, egg, flowers, grass, and So Sweet saying. My Pink Stamper's "Everyday Occasions" stamp set was used for the butterfly and the "Simply Sweet Occasions" set was used for the "hi!". The egg was jazzed up by adding Stickles in Orange Peel and Grape. The punch used on the orange photo holder was Martha Stewart's pansy edge punch.

Stampin' Up!

I was very excited to attend my first ever Stampin' Up! get-together. The best part was that it was a one-on-one kind of thing. My friend's mother is a demonstrator, so she was able to squeeze me in for a private showing of all her items. I have never used any Stampin' Up items, so I was very excited about this opportunity. I was so proud of the things I was able to make, so I just wanted to show you the projects we made together. I am very impressed about the Stampin' Up products. I wanted to buy EVERYTHING!!!!! I limited myself to only spending about $80. I do not have the name of the colors or items we used, so I won't be able to share that :( Sorry!

Pink, Green, and Black Challenge

Hi there! So My Pink Stamper recently posted a challenge for all her blog readers to participate in. You are to create a project using pink, green, and black. For more information about the challenge, head on over to her blog at http://www.mypinkstamper.com
Here is my challenge project. I made a purse card using the Paisley cartridge and the Gypsy. This was a simple and quick card. The Paisley cart. only the shape of the purse. With the Gypsy I placed two purses and welded them together to make a card. I used AC Foil paper in Black for the bottom of the card and a sheet from the Nana's Kids stack for the small flap. Prima pansy flowers were used as the button closure.

So while I wait for my Bind it All to arrive in order to finish my Mother's Day project, I was inspired by My Pink Stamper's recent card. Here is my Hugs card. Once again I am using my Create a Critter cart. I can't stop using it :) I should use the others so I don't bore myself with this one. I don't think that is possible though. I love the size of this card, it measures 3 3/4 x 3 3/4. The pink paper to start with was cut to measure 7 1/2 x 3 3/4 giving us a nice square card. The dots paper was cut to be 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 and used the EK Success punch called Dotted Scallop. The seal was cut to be 2.5. For the seal's face I used Stickles in Xmas Red for the tongue and Platinum for the eyes. The flower is a small Prima with a little silver dot in the center. I was able to create an envelope to fit the card using The Ultimate Crafter's Companion. I cut a 7" square and used line D & D on the board.

So I started my mother's day project today. I am making a wordbook, my first ever, but I'm waiting to get my Bind It All so I can put it all together. I should be posting it in a few days.

Mini Marker Holder and Microbeads review

So I've had the mini marker holder from Custom Crops, but had never gotten around to using it partly because I didn't have any mini markers! I was at Michael's today making some returns and found individual mini markers there. I only bought the black because I wanted to try out the holder first. I will definitely be returning to buy the whole set! I love how this thing works. I never used the Cricut markers, so I was amazed at what I was able to do with the mini marker holder :) Anyway, here is a picture of what I drew out. I used the Create a Critter cart for this. I think I'll be using the mini marker holder more often to make some great coloring pages for my students as a free time activity.
I also had some Martha Stewart glass microbeads I've never tried, so since I was just playing around with the markers i decided to try out the beads. As you can see, it looks like crap with the beads! I glued them on with the Elmer's glue pen. So from trail and error, the beads would work best as small details instead of gluing them on a larger surface.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day. One more day of work and it is spring break for me! Here is a thank you card I made for my aunt! I hope you like it. I just got my Create a Critter cartridge yesterday. I haven’t stopped using it! It is a must have cartridge for all Cricut owners! The French poodle and the greeting are both from this cartridge. For the designer paper I used the DCWV Nana’s Kids paper stack and for the card itself, I used the gray from the AC Cardstock Primaries pack. I did use some Stickles to “bling” up my card. I used Cotton Candy on the greeting and Black Diamond for the eyes and smile. On the little bows I added some clear mini Skittles.
